Back when myth tfl was still popular (around 2000) there was a small group of players who played this variant of Mudpit Massacre Dark called 3r2g0s.

It was not a special map, we just agreed to the rules before we played, unranked.

3r = 3 river
2g = 2 grass
0s = 0 souless

What it means is:
-the top 3 positions fight at the river
-the bottom 2 positions fight at the grassy area
-the winners of both battles fight in the middle
-no souless

This is really ALL I ever played, and there were was a small group of players (maybe 50 or so) who also only played 3r2g0s.

Anyway I was wondering if any of you even heard of it or if anyone plays it anymore?

From what I remember... after bungienet went down there was a lag before marius came online... after marius came back none of the 3r2g0s players were around and the tradition was lost.

It was all I ever played in TFL (other than FFA BC on Dire Marsh).
By the time B.net went down, I was already playing M2, however.

I miss our old SoM vs. #@L# rivalry, PPE! lol hardly a rivalry though.. they almost felt like the same clans since we all played together so much.

vTFL would be the only good way to do it... mmd was all about trow and mellee, and working for a positional advantage. so basically, the 3 players at river would engage in a seemingly endless dance before any fighting actually occurred. m2 physics are more ideal for fetch, so the traditional practices of 3r2g0s are all but lost.

Well of course! I meant vTFL as opposed to real TFL. Which all those bums are too lazy to install...
