Hello, i bought every single Myth game there is including the total codex which comes with a disc of user created maps mods and tools and i would like to know if the one of the tools on the disc is a map maker for Myth TFL or Myth II, i am asking this because it did not arrive at my house yet (i hate media mail )

Myth 2 shipped with its map tools. The latest patch update for Myth 2 includes newer versions of them:
http://www.projectmagma.net/downloads/

The Myth TFL tools you can download from here
http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/show/tfl-tools-mac-classic
but they are Mac-only and very tricky.

More specifically, Mac OS 9 only. Classic mode under OS X is a no-no.

This isn't true. There are TFL tools for PC that do work...sort of. At least they worked for me \:\)

No, ones I made where you use loathing for M2 to get your height data in, then you feed the M2 map to some cheap app, and it spits out a TFL map. The thing really works, just no one ever used it. And it had some funkiness once in a while (you can get rid of funkiness by not making the height changes TOO detailed in loathing - I always did it in photoshop, pulled it into loathing, then put the map into my tool). I love putting maps in my tool. It gets me off.

Do these applications you made have a name, and is there a place someone could download them from?

I have several classic PC TFL map making programs. Mainly editing type programs..I made a few maps with them. I do think there is a really bad loathing/fear program for TFL..I never tried it..but I think you can still get it from Udogs hotline..if not I can upload all that I have for ya. Kinda pointless with M2 1.6.

If you would be so kind as to provide the name of these applications, one could see if they are available at udogs. Without knowing the name of the applications it's kind of hard to check to see if they are still there or not.

I have a bunch of other TFL map editing tools - mostly very narrowly focused (each app does one specific task). For a fairly complete list of TFL tools you can go to the myth graveyard - though I don't know if I have _all_ of these or not. Probably I am missing at least a few. Also not ALL of these are mapmaking tools, but MOST of them are. If you want any of these and can't find them anywhere (Please look at existing download sites first - most are/were on the udogs hotline site, try http://hl.udogs.net/files/Gaming/ Myth Series/Myth I - The Fallen Lords/Utilities/Win32/ and http://hl.udogs.net/files/Gaming/ Myth S...Making (Other)/ ) let me know and I'll see what I have copies of.

Ok, I went through my old dusty TFL programs. It looks like you have everything I have and used. The only thing I can find is that my GORE is version GOREv2. I am not sure if they are the same or differant. Your list looks pretty solid. I did forget that the Bungie TFL tools were for mac (when I had an old mac).

cool - thnx for the link - only problem is that tripod doesn't allow .exe files to be downloaded. Any reason that collection of apps is a single exe - or I guess more pertinent question is is there any reason that exe couldn't be a zipped collection of individual exes?

thnx

If I remember, there's an installer. Hmm. I had posted them to PlayMyth a year and a half ago or so, but since Blades turned into a hot redhead chick, there's no more PlayMyth. If I ever remember where the apps + code are in my personal backups, I can put them up somewhere, but to be honest, I wouldn't even know where to start looking. It would most likely be easier for me to write them again. But I never have time to do these kinds of things (plus, who cares?).
