Be very careful while you're in South Africa as it's an extremely dangerous place.

Oddly, despite it's reputation, South Africa seems pretty safe for Myth Mapmaking Contest Organizers. In all it's years of civil conflict, there's never been any acts of violence committed against Myth Mapmaking Contest Organizers.

sooo I'm back from africa, it was great...

now heres the bad news...

1: lets start with the not so bad news my harddrive crashed while I was in africa, which means I lost my map for the contest...

2: I just tried to quickfix the site, directly editing files on the server, generating a kernel panic on my computer while uploading, losing like 700 lines of code, meaning I'll have to start over building the site (no backup because my HDD crashed)... which at this point is no longer fun, and since Myth for me is all about fun...its not happening...

my suggestion is that we pick a new date, about a month from now (if enough people are still interested) and upload everything to the tain, and getting a poll up on this forum to pick a winner... so no site is needed...

anyway...

let me know what you guys think, if anybody is still around...

ok, some good news,

I found an old backup and spend most of the day restoring the site, its probably a little buggy but it'll have to do for now...

THE SITE HAS BEEN RESTORED, THE CONTEST IS STILL ALIVE AND GOING...
MAPS MUST BE UPLOADED IN 1 MONTH (on the 15th of May)

good luck, and may the best mapmaker win...

this message will also be mailed to all the people who signed up (and if they provided a real email address)

Teams are allowed as long as your team members didn't already sign up themselves its simply 1 project/ map per person, hope you manage to finish in time
