To allow for some time to address some concerns that have arisen over the disabling of guest accounts, Guest accounts have been re-enabled for the time being.


**Update: Rather than killing off guest accounts completely, we've decided to just go with Auto Renaming of Guest accounts.

All that this means is that anyone logging in as Guest will not be able to specify their screenname, they will be auto-named 'Guestxxxxx' where the x's represent their temporary userid. You will still be able to specify your player colors.


This is a good compromise that allows the continued use of guest accounts while putting an end to those that would try to abuse the anonymity of guest accounts to spoof/impersonate Admins.

That is if the the "guest" feature stated on the ProjectMagma stated as "...play on MariusNet as a Guest, without having to register. ..." does go away in the near future it looks like.

i just say that i saw guest account behave bad several times, and that made me think they are just other mnet players cheating or annoying others...you should associate guest account with demo version, so that their "range" is just unranked rooms..

That is [blam] idiotic. We want players to be able to play on the guest account with other people, it will bring in more players. Nobody plays in unranked, it would drive off new or returning players.
