Paris is hosting a 2 team double elimination style tournament called "The Winter Series". It will take place in the Winter-Spring of 2008, hold subtournaments and contains prizes of $2500 and a Bungie sponsored prize.

Check out the website for more details.

Bungie sponsored? Bungie still interested in Myth? Anyhow? After even not posting MWC2007 news? Tell us more \:\)

so theres this thing called christmas and theres this thing called family, and on christmas you get together and discuss things.

that's about the basis of it. if you want the fine details a PM will be in order, but i really don't see it necessary.

Yeah, how is it Bungie-sponsored? Wouldn't bungie want everyone to know all about their sponsorship? That'd be the point of it for them -- to keep them in the minds of consumers.

But nevermind about Bungie... to hell with Bungie, actually -- they left us! Just tell us cuz we're curious! \:D

Perhaps 'sponsored' was a typo and they meant to say 'Bungie related'

OK winners gets also copy of Halo 3 or something (bought by Paris) - but hey Halo 3 was made by Bungie, so its almost like "Bungie sposored", almost ;\) ;\) ;\)

I count this as a good tourney marketing trick ;\)

Yes, but wouldn't one need the xbox for Halo 3 anyway?

Man, if it hadn't been for bungie, what would the xbox have had goin' for it? Sure other games, but Halo made the platform.

To think it was first demoed on the Macworld stage... ahh, what glory might have been!

Any possibility of a blue bar PPE? Oh, and twisting the arms of the Real Men to get them to participate :P.

We won't have any good scheduling rants if they aren't present!

Given the fact that the eastern front involved up to 73% of the German armed forces, destroyed four times as many German divisions as all other fronts combined and accounted for 73% of German casualties, 75% of its tanks and aircraft lost and 74% of its artillery, you might conclude, that..... it was clearly Canada that ended the war.

Admittedly the Soviet Union would have suffered total defeat by about 1944 if not for the vast quantities of supplies sent to them by the USA. The Germans also misunderestimated the strength of the Soviet forces because of their prior poor performance against Poland and Finland.

lol, I'll try, but damned if I know.

Maddog has been consumed by World of Warcrack and is now seen slightly less often than Nessie.
Ascot has almost run out of things to bitch about, and thus is now without the source of his powers and lies still, drained of life.
Pappy is around, I've seen him with scores on the ranking page, so I know he gets on here every so often.

I have no clue about the others \:p

Yeah... whatever rocks your boat. American public school history teaching at it's best. If this is based on something else, I'm going to be worried.

If I were a better player I'd volunteer to join, but anyone who's been playing Myth for more than a few months (weeks mb?) isn't going to have their winning tournament experience enhanced by having me on their team. My ability to completely forget what to do in any given situation and stand around wondering what I am supposed to be doing is only exceeded by my uncanny ability to shoot myself in the foot (or my teammates) when I DO actually try to do something.

gl to eveyone in the tourney though, with that kind of prize money up for grabs I am sure the ingame and postgame conversations will be even more entertaining than usual.
