you mythers people, shame on you! how have u managed to abandon, leave, forget and then insult the amazing game that is TFL! wtf, m1 is far harder than m2, its not gayish as many say (try to play for a while on tfl then go on multi...) and the campaign is amazing! this is an appeal of compassion to you all to make m1 live again on multiplayer and survive! sigh, sigh sigh!!

Why TFL is better than SB

But that's just the commercial solo campaign. Myth II has the plugins, and the multiplayer seems plenty good to me. But I'm a solo h00r.

TFL v1.3 didn't run when more than 640mb of RAM is installed. It also had some problems running on Windows XP and I don't think it runs on MacOSX at all.
So Blades came out with a TFL v1.4 and Projectmagma came out with a v1.5. Each three are incompatible with each other and some people could only run one or two out of the three on their computer.
v1.3 could only connect to Mariusnet, v1.4 only to PlayMyth.net and v1.5 could connect to either but could only be installed for one.
Bungie.net TFL went down without warning and never came back. Many never knew there was a new server.
So with all these compatibility and server issues it made it very difficult.
And there never were that many TFL players. Less than 3% of people who bought a copy of TFL ever played it online.

If people show up on Mariusnet on Myth TFL I will gadly play with anyone. Heck, I would only play TFL (or vTFL) if I could.

Also... where you got that 3% thing Eddaweaver?

This is, of course, no longer matters. 1.5 works fine on XP and OS X, and there is joy and gladness throughout the land. I'm usually up for a game or two though.

1.3 ran fine with a large amount of ram with the use of Capitals ram 'patch'

Hey, I am an old Myth TFL-er. It's been years, but I would love to get on and CB the hell outa someone. LMOTH carnage dark tonight. Anyone interested? Lets schedule something if not tonight. I can find my old clan members I think still...

BTW, TFL is better. Myth 2 was cool and all, but TFL was where it was at. Funny, I also like Halo 1 better than 2. I think Bungie screws up the sequal \:p

Why not just play Magma's Fallen Levels on M2? That way everyone can stick to one game and play them both according to preferance. And yes, I already heard that it's not the same as old TFL, but until someone explains me the difference (apart from the interface which is better in SB), I'll keep supporting my point of view.

I didn't think the interface was better. What was different?

Fetches suck so much ass in M2. Dorfs suck ass in M2. The cocktails in TFL feel much better. Souls in M2 are weak compaired to TFL. The way units turn in M2 is retarded. It makes dodging such a chore. I like the movement much better in TFL. TFL trows are WAY better and stronger. They were probably the most pussified in M2...other than fetches.

Magma did a great job, but it was the game engine that changed.

Not to trash on M2, because it was great, but I would take TFL any day.

I would also play Halo one over 2 also.

I think bungie has a problem with sequels!

Um ... reading this it sounds like some of you haven't tried Myth 2's TFL Gameplay option (commonly called vTFL). Its by no means perfect, but we worked long & hard to make it as close to TFL as possible. The 1.6 update uses code from TFL's game engine as well.

If you'd rather install TFL though, by all means don't let me stop you \:\) Unfortunately there's no Mauriac's tale on Myth 2.

I play TFL mainly for the mauriac coop plug and that is about it. It is too hard to get ppl to play classic TFL. vTFL works great for me and you have a better chance to get a vTFL game.

I like vTFL a bit more than classic TFL. My formations stay the same ..It runs great on my PC without messing with my screen size...plus it is just like running TFL..

Simplicity.

Yeah, but no one has ported echoes yet....Or Raisin Barn. (I refuse to accept the "port" that was made for MWC, that is a map on the Raisin Barn cmap, not a port :P)

I'm with Dio, While TFL is great, i find vTFL to be a better experience all around.

And yeah, it really sounds like you guys aren't using vTFL. you might be playing the fallen levels or the tfl multipack, but make sure you put a check in the "vTFL" checkbox to enable TFL units and physics, it completely changes the game.

Ok, right now I have vTFL and TFL, I finally managed to set my screen resolutopm for TFL not to show 2d stuff as smaller (took a long yime to find the otpion to set 640x480) and I must say that I see no difference apoart from that some explosion sounds don't play in TFL. I'll keep both though. Still I find vTFL a much more convienient way to play M1.

Anyone wanna give me some information on what vTFL is? I left the myth community around 2002, I think I have missed out on some stuff. Where can I get it and how will I install it? I am on a G5 iMac, I want to make it bigger than 640x480, I know it is possible, but how? I had 1024x768 on my iMac DV back in the day. Any suggestions?

BTW, can you CB in vTFL??? cuz you couldn't in Myth 2. bah...

contractor you actually have to get on myth and try vTFL, it essentially makes all the myth units act the same way they did in TFL, all units, any map.

There IS CARPET BOMBING. sorry no chain kiks.

and the "MB I KIK U TO KENTUKI" is supllied by yourself.

vTFL is as good or better than TFL, you really just need to try it.
