Me and many other old schoolers still have many of the tutorials and links to tools for making units/maps/textures/etc. still available for you if you are playing around with mapmaking dfor the first time.
All of my knowledge is in making maps and plugins for Myth 2. I'm not an expert, but can help with basic map creation for netgame play. I also have a working knowledge of some basic scripts used in c0-0p maps. There are thousands of plugins/maps for Myth 2. Hundreds of them are really fun. There is always room for innovation and new ideas.

There is also a great mapmaking forum available at thetain.net.

Also, most (if not all) of the old MapMaking tutorials you'll ever hear mentioned in mapmaking conversations are available at the Mapmaker's Workshop page in the Myth graveyard.

The page also has mything.org and external links to info about mapmaking tools, forums, resources for mapmaking, etc.

i think i wasted the best of my 14-to-18 years making maps for age of empires 2 with triggers ecc (not newb things lol) and altho Myth mapmaking seems to be much more funny and powerfully effective...i think i will not make a gnikcuf mesh or trigger in all my life anymore!!
