Actually - I was just playing some of the solo levels again for fun and remembered what was the great flaw in
Myth III. The designers didn't know the most important thing about level design; the difference between
challenging and
frustrating. I've played all through
Myth III and some of the levels are both clever and even beautifully done. The problem is - they're also at times so hard (at Mighty or above) that you can only defeat them by sheer muleheadedness. Too many times I'd complete a level but feel more annoyed that it took so long rather than satisfied. Of course maybe that's me - maybe I'm just not that good - but I never felt frustrated with
Myth I for
Myth II that way.
I will say tho - this of course does not apply to multiplayer, for that Myth III is great!
