I can't imagine I would have told you to email mariusnet for changes to autohost map selection since anyone can autohost. It's a feature of Myth 2, not server related at all.
You can look at the user list here on mariusnet and see for yourself the players who have 'autohost' in their names. There's currently 3; 'autohost', 'autohostpu' and 'theauthohost' - but it looks like only 'theautohost' has been doing any hosting.
Unless you were unable to see the autohost games you weren't wanked, so if you could see them and just couldn't join them my guess would be that theautohost was having firewall/network issues.
