Hello I'm from the clan The Dawg Pound and on this forum we have our own clan forum, as all clans do, and there are posts in there that I cannot delete. If an admin could please delete all the posts that are in our forum, or give me access to do so that would be great.

I have the same problem - I'm clan founder but I can't modify anything in the ulms private forums.

Can an admin give some kind of reason why we can't moderate our own clan forum?

How could anybody put a lock on that?
All humor aside, I imagine it's for just that reason. Even though it may require a password, to enter(I don't know), it's still located on the server. So it has to be monitored for the safety of the server owners. IE Your games that you host, you are the server and anything funky happening there(legal wise), is your problem not PPE's. But I'm not an admin so..

When you say "we", do you mean that no one in the clan can delete posts? That you as the clan founder can't delete posts? Or just that you as a clan member can't delete posts?

I am the founder of the clan and I cannot delete any posts, which I believe is because they're older than a certain date because if I make a new post I can edit or delete it.

You can always edit or delete your own posts - if you do it in time.

But I've never been able to edit/delete posts written by anyone else on the clan forum. I also can't edit posts I wrote myself.
So what's the point of being a moderator if I can't moderate anything?

Just checked: the clan board clearly says:

Until Last Man Stand's Private Forum
A forum for the private Clan discussions of the 'Until Last Man Stand' Clan.
Moderator: killerking

No promises since I am not sure where the problem lies, but I'll look into this issue.

> Interesting. I played around with the clan forum moderator role and confirmed your experience. Forum moderators who are unable to moderate - I wonder how this came to be. Definitely not logical.

OK. Official word is that the clan moderator functions are broken. They should work, you should be able to delete posts, etc,. but they're broken so you can't.

From what I hear, this isn't very high on the to-do list, so I don't have any idea when or even if this will get fixed.

The forum moderator functions work fine if I make a new post, I can edit or delete that if needed it's just the old posts I cannot which is why I believe you have it set somewhere that we can only edit or delete a post for X amount of days then it's permanent.

That has nothing to do with any mod settings, since everyone can edit their recent posts for a certain amount of time before it becomes permanent.

EXACTLY what I said in my post above, please read. If we post and it is posted for X amount of time we can still edit or delete it, you simply need to increase the value.

There is a difference between being able to modify your own posts, and being able to modify other people's posts.

You indicated that you can delete posts you make in your clan forum but only for a short time, but every clan member can do that, so that doesn't demonstrate that you are able to delete posts by other players at all.

If you can delete posts by other players, then changing the edit-duration could help your situation. If you can't then obviously it wouldn't.

FYI: In regards to 'cleaning up' old forum posts, I seriously doubt anyone is going to increase the timespan enough to delete posts that are months or years old. That would be a bad idea, unless the clan forum editing timespan is seperate from the general forum timespan.

I've never, ever been able to do that. That's why I have another question: what's the maximum time span to edit one of your own posts?
