I've twice displayed blatantly n00bish behavior. This may count as thrice. How well does this community take to rehabilitating the well-intentioned n00b?

You will likely be shunned from a lot of the "competitive myth" multiplayer, and along with those of us with slow/unstable connections and similar noobishness (even after 12 years), you will have to take up cooperative play where the players are 900% cooler and starved for new players. Soon, everyone will forget(if they havnt already)

Trust me there are lots of very cool people who used to play myth, having played with them makes it tough for me to play multi anymore with the current crew.

Myth is clinging to life, it will take some effort to revive, but it will. Hang in there man.

Anyone immature enough to be bothered long term by it isn't worth worrying about ;\)

lots of slander against the competitive myth community, that once had a team which waited 6 extra hours just for your team to show up after they would have blatantly forfeited just to give your team a second chance.

"shunned", i don't think so.

haha, unless you were trying to illustrate that making a fool of yourself doesn't matter much, you should learn the definition of words like 'slander' before you uh... make a fool of yourself.

I did not mean to slander you, I just wanted a way to differentiate between multiplayer (online) and multiplayer (2+ teams). I did not realize the term "competitive" meant you specifically. I just play coop, i'm not in the loop.

But since it does, I dont blame you for your views, newb players probably should not play with people who are overly competitive. Starting with coopers or ffas would be a great idea, until they learn the ropes and find some other good players. Unfortunatly, there are rarely a good selection of games.

I don't even know if I was on topic, I just assumed glamdring played myth, and the problems occurred in a teamed rank game. Its been a problem that I feel has really hurt the community.

And no, you won't be shunned. Im sure its long forgotten, newb behavior is VERY common on myth

I'll still try not to challenge the collective patience too much, but it's good to know y'all are willing to converse around one who has occasionally been foolish.

everyone is foolish at some time, if you join a game it might be a good idea to inform people that you're new before the game starts

Noted. Thus far, complied with. I find it helps if I make a point of saying that I expect to get royally pwned.
If none of that sounds familiar, bear in mind that at this time I'm exclusively (in this context) an Aleph One player, not a Myth player.

maybe you guys waited 6 extra hours because you wanted more team points than you would have gotten had they forfeited?
