UPDATE: Fixed this problem by switching to OpenGL, lag has gone completely.

I've always had this problem, both on my new computer and old computer where if there's a lot of water on a map it will lag to the point of not being able to move. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before and how it was resolved if it ever was.

Resolution: 1920x1200
Graphics Card: 8800GTS (Latest Drivers)
CPU: Intel Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Operating System: Windows XP SP3
Myth 2 Version: 1.7.1

If you need anymore information let me know.

not exactly sure how it was fixed, if you want to know that, post this on the magma forms.

i do know that everyone here, maybe didnt lag, but had a drop in FPS when water or a moving model such as the windmill on willow creek are on screen. this is because your computer is constantly translating the movement of the waves in the water, and the spinning of the blades. if your FPS drop low enough during a multiplayer game, you will lag more.

Sounds like it was fixed by using the latest version of Myth2 and switching to OpenGL instead of DirectX or whatever other rendering option he was previously using.

I was using Direct3d before which was making me lag, I'm now using OpenGL which has made the lag go away completely. \:\)
