So we were playing a big 2team des game and it suddenly crashed.

Went to lobby and people there said "om popped in and booted kirk."

That's as low as it gets. Ruining the lobby is one thing, but crashing games destroys myth.

But some people said admins can't interfere in games. Can they crash a player out of them?

And this comes after you made a huge point about how admins don't police things in games like suiciders. I'm sure you'll try to justify crashing a game with 14 people in it because you don't like kirk. (Which is odd because none of you even play myth with him.)

You sure the player didn't just fake it and blamed it on an admin. Mnet is a metaserver, no games actually run on it. So if you are in a game and the server goes down, you are still able to play out your game. You can even stay in the game lobby for as long as you want. Once you leave it, then you can't return unless the server is back. Even if an admin wanted to cause trouble, they have no power in someone's game.

Admins don't crash games.

Pyro is correct, booting a player from the game server-lobby has NO effect whatsoever on a game.

update: In case it wasn't clear, booting a player from the game-server lobby has no effect on the game, OR the person who is booted. Booting a player from the server will not remove the player from a game.


ps. "Ruining the lobby"? Make me laugh.

Absolutely not. Admins cannot do anything at all outside of the metaserver.

Even if we kick and blammed the host of a game, the game would continue on uninterrupted and completely unaffected. The game does NOT occur on the metaserver, so we can't touch it.


In short, whomever spread this notion is grossly misinformed.
