In the plugin that I'm currently working on, tanks and choppers can't be healed for some reason. In wwii plugs of the past, they have been able to be healed. I just can't figure out what needs to be modified so that they can receive heals.
Thanks!

In the monster tag there is a value for Healing Fraction. If set to zero, the unit dies when healed like Thrall. If set to 1.0, the unit when healed will be able to have full health. The lowest value possible without being 0.0 is 0.008. With a value of 0.008 healing will do nothing to the unit.

Fear and Loathing come with a Mapmaking Docs zip file. It contains some reference pages in HTML. They tell you want each thing does.

lol, leave it to a programmer to come up with that scheme

It would have made more sense for 0.0 to represent no healing and -1.0 to represent killing an undead.

Took me a bit to decipher what you meant, Steel. If the healing fraction is set to 1.0, then it can be healed. Then either the healer unit is not allowed to target the unit with that attack or this healing is not real healing but a negative damage based attack.

As for not allowed to use the attack. There are a few flags in the attack window for the monster's attack. They have the word "Prohibited vs". So if the helicopter unit is marked as giant and the healing attack is marked "Prohibited vs. Giant Sized" then there you go. Units can be marked as Giant, Flying, Undead, a combo of any of those, or none of them. Read the Fear doc about those flags.

Nuke, you left before I could tell you that you were wrong. You changed some tags to be "man sized" and unchecked "Is Giant Sized".

But if you go find the correct med kit attacks you can uncheck the "Prohibited vs Giant Sized" attack flag. So whoever you took the tags from designed it so a soldier cannot heal a tank or helicopter.

So the only reason healing the vehicles worked is because they no longer have the "Is Giant Sized" monster flag checked. Changing the class to "Man sized" did not help you as I told you right before you ignored me and did it anyways.

The "Prohibited vs Giant Sized" attack flag was never checked. I told you that at least once. I decided to test something just as you were telling me it wouldn't work. So I went through with it anyways and turned out to work.
Thanks again for your help! \:\)

I know what you said, which is why I bothered to download the map and take a look myself. Turned out I was right. You were just checking the wrong tags. The "man sized" change you made did not help. The removal of the "Is Giant Sized" is what helped. Do you understand why? Because the healing attack was set to be "prohibited vs giant sized" units. You just looked at the wrong tags.
