Deadfall Released!

After months of development by Jon God and Zeph, Deadfall, a extensive modification of Quarantine, is finally finished. Deadfall is a Zombie based cooperative survival plugin for Myth II. Playable with up to 15 players, Deadfall pits you against nearly 400 AI controlled zombies.

Without variety, is a plugin nothing? Deadfall is playable across 15 maps, with 6 unique gametypes and team/ffa variants.

To add another layer to the gameplay, Deadfall is class based, and every round you can choose a class to suit your playing style, be it Rockets, or Medic, there are 8 classes to choose from, each unique with their own pros and cons.

If a player dies when fighting against zombies, he returns from the grave to kill his former team mates to score extra points, and keep them from getting any more points.

Levels range from urban sprawls to snowbound bases, and everything in between, get ready to fight on some of the most varied maps in on plugin. You'll find yourself fighting in quarries, deserts, small cities, harbors, and more on a host of Strangelet maps!

Gametype wise, expect some interesting twists, with the normal zombie slaying infection, along with other gametypes including a FPS style deathmatch gametype, with multiple spawn points, and FPS style capture the flag.

Touching on classes, there are some of the more obligatory classes, such as the Medic, and Flamethrower classes, but along with them are more original classes, such as the Seeker, with his plasma launcher, and missiles. There is enough variety to make for some very interesting combinations of classes for co-op.

The cherry on top of the features is the high standard of graphical quality in this plugin, with nearly all sprites much higher resolution then normal Myth II sprites, and all 15 levels completely detail textured. Deadfall will be the prettiest Myth II 1.7 plugin released to date!

Perhaps you should let the author(s) speak for themselves?

The text of the news post you are replying to was written by Jon God and the first sentence starts: "After months of development by Jon God and Zeph.."

actually, the fact: Zeph made Quarantine, and Jon God used maps from mostly ADT. The zombies where made, the units were mostly made, i cant recall who made/worked on them. and others helped with the scripting, ext.

om, the only person i witnessed actually doing any editing and stuff was jon, but it is an adaptation of quarintine so jon had to put zeph in...(although quarintine was good to so zeph deserves the mention).
and jon was and still is doing a **** load...

and steel, i was only talking about the work between quarintine and deadfall end result.

No one is arguing that JonGod didn't do a lot of work to make Deadfall. But JonGod has enough respect for other mapmaker's work that he gives credit where credit is due and acknowledges the creations of other mapmakers which he used to create Deadfall, and without which deadfall would not exist. That in no way takes anything away from the work JG did in making Deadfall. I was merely proposing, that rather than have 3rd parties (steel/morgoth66) argue over who did what, we(you) just take the author's word for who deserves credit and give kudos to JG and Zeph (and strangelet) [and anyone else who helped the project along] for all the work that went into making Deadfall the very entertaining creation it is.

right, im not trying to argue. just letting you know Gil that even though Jon made Deadfall, He did have A lot of help. the high def units and some of the scripting the high def explosions and even a lot of ideas for the units attacks came from us testers. Im not saying Jon didnt do a lot of work, what im saying that without the help of all the other people Deadfall would either not exist or would be really bad.

So just FYI before saying that someone did most/all the work, you should give all the contributors credit, i know personally that /eph did help with making of deadfall. without Zeph deadfall would not even be an idea in Jons head. So thanks Zeph for all the help in the making of deadfall and making Quarantine to make deadfall a reality.

Here's a quick rundown of who made what im DF

Strangelet : Most of the colormaps/3d models(buildings), the marine collection and the 3d model

Zeph : All the fear work, zombies, marine zombies, scripting, gameplay design, loathing work on the original quarantine maps, 2 colormaps

Jon God : Loathing work on almost every maps, scripting tweaks, zombie placement, fear tweaks, some new gametypes such as VIP water infection etc.

Pyro : Contributed to 1 or 2 scripting bug.

Basically, Strangelet did most of the visual, I did most of the gameplay work and some visual and jon god put it all together and fixed a bunch of bugs in a huge plugin.

can i just say...

i only said anything at all cuz jon was the only one i saw do stuff...

people didn't need to go off at me, all that was really needed was a single post similar to zeph's.
thank you zeph, as i have never made a map before i wasn't aware it took so much effort, i was only commenting on what i saw, as i said before, was only speaking from what i saw...
