Just tried to play and the one available game on mariusnet was red.

It was WW2 recon, which I have, but it was still red, although I also don't seem to be able to host a game with that map either.

This is all on a new intel mac - works ok for solo games.

Might have to attempt a re-install, since I just copied the whole game folder over from my G4.

Yes. I've been playing Myth 3 fine, all I've done is put it on this new machine (Intel), copied over the entire Myth 3 folder from the G4 (PowerPC).

I did just belatedly realize that I hadn't configured the router properly for this new machine, but now have port 3453 forwarding to both machines, not just the g4. But that normally doesn't stop one from joining games.

I'm wondering if it's because I haven't applied that patch "Patch_MariusNet_1.0.zip" to stop it saying Playmyth in the interface, and Ravengard + Sgt Shaved Balls have?

They were playing WW2 recon for Myth 3, a tag which I also have - but I can't seem to host games with it, which may be another problem, it's possible that tag isn't working for me. I guess I can redownload it and reinstall. But I'm also wondering if Myth 3 doesn't have some sort of limit on the number of tags you can have installed (like M2 used too).

Worst thing about all this is not being able to debug again until next Thursday \:\)

Patch_Mariusnet... doesn't update the text in the multiplayer screen, that's hardcoded somewhere else. But the mariusnet patch does have the server IP address which you do need to connect to mnet.

Ah, I guess I did that manually when pmnet went down? Since I don't have that patch installed.

I had another forehead slapping moment just now though, opening the M3 folder and seeing the debug log:

Error: Data Corrupted in tag_files.c, line #3233: the monolithic file ':plugins:Big wight go BANG' had a bad header

So I'll delete that plugin and see where that gets me \:\)

Deleting that plugin got me nowhere.

Removing all but WWII allowed me to host that, so I worked slowly, adding back a few plugins at a time until once again I lost WWII - and several other plugins. Haven't figured out yet whether it's a particular plugin, or just the number of them.

I have belatedly realised my G4 behaves the same way as the new computer, not all maps I have installed are available. Just need to figure out why.

Sorry, but that's about the extent of my M3 hosting knowledge, hopefully someone more M3 savvy can jump in to help. (I have heard of not all 3 M3 plugins showing up in plugin selection screen, but I don't know the cause/solution. I doubt it is the number of plugins because there can't be more than 2-3 dozen M3 maps and plugins? Even the old versions of M2 could have a couple hundred or more before some didn't show up in the list)

If I remember correctly, m3 loads all the non-tagset plugins you have automatically (unlike m2 where you have to activate every plugin you want to use). There is a limit on the number of meshes that will show up in the list though, so you will be unable to host many maps without first removing other ones. However if someone else does host them, you should still be able to join, even if you cant host the map yourself.

Tell me about it, takes an age to start up with a full plugin folder \:\/

So still no good answer as to why that game was red. Will really have to try and get this working on Thursday.

Meantime I guess I'll need to slim down my plugins folder \:\(

After talking to Ooga on msn it seems they were playing some WWII plugins I don't have - hence the red games.

Just when I though I had all the available tags worth having \:\)
