Clearing out the old PC games with the kids and came across the TFL discs - thought I'd look and see if the game still ran somewhere. Nice to some familiar names. I wondered if anyone saw the FoG people - Gilliath and Apocolypse and others. I remember Daemon well and Headhunter:) Names are flashing up from the past - Aemon, Drinking Dave, Major Puke. SWC and ToT.. Mostly Spider players.
I must try and set up the game and have a go... Anyway nice seeing some of the names again.

If you want to TFL play online you'll probably want to upgrade to the current version of TFL (1.5), which is a free update available at The Tain or ProjectMagma .
If you've been away for a while you might not know that recent versions of Myth II have a 'TFL emulation' mode that changes all the Myth II physics to the old Myth TFL physics. Combined with ProjectMagma's "The Fallen Levels v2" and "Myth TFL Multiplayer Mappack" they let you play all the Myth TFL solo and multiplayer maps with the old TFL units, scenery, models and physics. (Myth II v1.7 is also a free update available at The Tain or projectmagma.net - as are the Fallen Levels and the Multiplayer Mappack)
I know you said you are a TFL player, I just mention the MythII TFL emulation because MythII is the myth game the vast majority of current Mythers play with.

Oh man, I see some old faces. Found this site when I was feeling nostalgic and did a google search for "demo rats". Whats going on here guys?

Ah the days of hex edited names and micro-managing thrall. 12 years past and people still remember. Sup fellas. It's amazing that angelfire is still around.

I switched to M2 when the demo shut down. When bungie.net closed up the game lost it's appeal, the people are what made it fun.
Good to see you around after all these years. CLing sounds familiar but a whole decade has passed. You'll have to refresh my memory on that one.

CLing was a bug in Myth TFL which meant a unit could be attacked remotely if you CTRL-click attacked the ground then quickly clicked under a unit. There's an example of it in this highly topical movie.

Wow. I see alot of familiar names here. I haven't thought about Myth in a long time and then it just popped in my head. Maybe I will install if I still have the discs around.

I saw this thread on google, searching for "demo rats" as well, and thought "oh wow, May 09". Sort of shocked to see I'm actually making the post frequency a bit higher by waiting less than a month to reply!
Hope you're all doing well. Had to be something to this game - nothing else seemed worth playing
