Im in the process of making a map, it uses the landing at white falls colour map but your defending agenst the undead, any ways i can make the map and place units do all that crap but i cant seem to figure out how to make the triggers. i cant make it so the thrall come out of the water and attack they just stand there and do nothing

you need to script any action you want units on your map to do. if you have already tried scripting and it's not working be more specific about what your trouble is, if you haven't tried scripting yet here are a few good scripting guides.

(I would recommend the guide by Ares)

Its been done before. I dont know the esact link but its on the tain. you get alric and stuff. kool voiceover I enjoyed playing it once or twice. Not trying to discourage you man. Do what you gotta do. Ive ben trying to get my stupid 40K total conversion done for months \:\(

I seem to have a new problem where any walking undead get hung up on the beach walls, they walk up to the little hills and just stand there getting shot, they dont seem to know how to go around to where they can actually get up

New thingy about the map im not sure if i should allow it to be played like a 2 team map with damn near never ending undead as one player and the defenders as the other. Cause this is ALOT of units and having so many undead there are bound to be bugs that could be fixed by simply letting another group of players controll them. well any input would be nice

Oh and where can i upload screen shots or films from it to show you what im doing?

Any of the many free online file sharing sites/image-hosting-sharing sites would work.

If it's a film, zip it and upload it to a filesharing site and paste the url into your post.

If it's a picture, just make the picture a manageable size (no 1440x1200 imgs pls), upload the image to an image sharing site and paste in the url of the image.

OM i got this dont worry, you presence is no longer needed. hl.udogs.net

great site lots of clasic plugins you wont find anywhere else (really) theres a udogs hotline server. ask for an uploads folder, all us mapmaker use it. It works wonders unlimited space, almost no rules \:\) † it out if you got time

Saint, I don't see why you say OM's presence is not needed. When was yours needed (or wanted)? I'm not sure anyone considers you a mapmaker. I had difficuly explaining some basics to you from what I recall. I mean, how can someone not be able to find the team count number in a mesh tag via Fear without using a picture?


As for why undead can't find their way, the pathfinding AI isn't always great. You could try making a script (a Geometry Filter map action) that looks for undead in that area and feed those results to another script (a Movement map action) to make them move towards the path they are suppose to go to. From there you make them attack (an Attack map action) if that is what you wanted.

As what Saint has said... yes you can go to the hl.udogs.net hotline and request your own uploads folder. Talk to one of the red guys. The Project Magma forums are a good place to find mapmaking help.
