Hi Im a newbie to this forum, but longtime myth player. I just bought the game...again and I was wondering how to get setup to play online. I dont know which plug in to use and where to find it. PLease Help

Well, you got step 1 out of the way by registering here.
The username & password that you use here is what you will log into the game server with.


Start off by doing a clean install.

Next up is to update to Myth II v1.6. Look here for that.

Once you have that, just select Mariusnet from the "Servers..." button.
Now just log in and you're off and running.

Slight modification to the instructions above; If you are wanting play Myth 1 (aka The Fallen Lords) you need to update to Myth TFL v1.5. You can download it for free here. Install the full(large) version of Myth TFL from your CD, then follow the instructions to upgrade to 1.5.


One thing, not too many people play Myth I (TFL) anymore because there is a TFL emulator built in to the latest version of Myth II that lets you play the standard Bungie TFL multiplayer and solo maps right in Myth II. You will have more luck finding games to play in if you play Myth II.

I did everything you guys said, but it goes to playmyth.net. Is there a plugin for marius.net for myth 1 or do I need myth 2?

You should take anything that says Playmyth or has 'PMI' in the filename out of your TFL/plugins folder.

When you install Myth TFL 1.5 update it has a box for PlayMythNet plugins, make sure you don't check it that way it defaults to Mnet.

I don't think it works like that with TFL. I think the installation dumps various tags in the tags subfolders which is why the Mariusnet server must be chosen at patch installation time.
