I was using Loathing 1.5.2 and When it came to the part where I was going to smooth some of the cliffs, the smoothing tool no matter what number I set the option too weather it be 1.00 - 0.01 it would always raise my mesh to the 0 elevation and and when I would try to flatten or raise the mesh that the smoothing tool just made it was unusable.

I went over to other maps to see if the smoothing tool did the same thing, and it did. when I set the Smoothing filter effect rate to 0.01 it makes it go to elevation 0 at a super fast rate, and when i set the filter effect to 1.00 it did the exact same thing. I go over to smoothing radius and the number is 0.00 I set it to any number and it still does the same thing

Does anyone have this same problem or know how to fix it?

As I recall this is caused by another setting in the smoothing tool (raise to set level?) which "stays on" when you don't think it should.

I don't have a copy of Loathing in front of me...

Hopefully someone else can more eloquently outline the above. \:\)

I don't think you switched to the smooth tool properly. Maybe it is still on the Raise tool. Did you make sure to switch?

I set the raise amount to 0.02 to check to see if it was the culprit and the result was the same, i raised the raise amount and it was the same result again.

I use filter: smooth
