how can you rig the teams so the computer plays on a set team in multiplayer games (with the computer playing with regular units instead of hunting units etc)?

I think you should change the 'multiplayer' part to coop, and it works.

Ffa maps with a computer controlled player/team are specifically coded that way by the person who made the map. You can't magically make a non-team-scripted map into a computer-team-controlled map.
